At Elk River Clay, I create functional, lasting pottery that reflects the natural materials and environment around me. Each piece is handcrafted in my home studio on the plains of South-central Montana. I'm endlessly inspired by the landscapes, geology, and wildlife I witness every day in Montana and they are shown throughout my work. My hope is that when you use my pottery—whether for sipping your morning coffee or serving a meal—you’ll feel a sense of connection and intention in the everyday rituals that shape our lives. Each piece is thoughtfully hand crafted and made to last.
I use my mug every single morning. Its the perfect size and weight, not too delicate not too heavy. I also love my small bud vase! I'm constantly putting different arrangements of flowers and dried plants in it during the winter as that is how Clare had them displayed at the craft show. I just knew I had to have it in my house!

I cherish my bison bowl as it's such a beautiful design and momento from my trip to Montana. Clare was so helpful in packaging it and insuring me I could put it in the dishwasher without worry.

I love the glazes both on my coneflower cup and my solid green mug. The glazes are so soft & smooth to the touch while not too shiny or glossy. I've never seen glazes quite like them. I love how my cups feel in my hands and craftsmanship is so lovely. ERC is my go-to for all my gifting as everyone always want my pieces out my cupboard!
